I began camera assisting in the early 1990s and was then trained in house by the BBC Natural History Unit before becoming a fully-fledged cameraman in my own right. It’s been my privilege to work with some of the very best over the past thirty years and the great thing is there’s always more to learn and discover.
My speciality and lifelong passion is filming at height, particularly within the rainforest canopy. The high tropical canopy remains largely unexplored and filmed - a treasure trove of exciting discoveries and natural beauty. But whether filming at height or with feet on the ground, I consider prolonged hide-work, long lens, cable-cam rigs and presenter-led filming to be my core camera skills.
I’ve been fortunate to win an Emmy, two RTS awards and to be BAFTA nominated several times.
